FOR SUMMER DATE IN CARDIFF

Internationally acclaimed singer and musician Liam Finn will support Australian rock legends Crowded House when they headline TK Maxx presents Depot Live at Cardiff Castle this summer.

Crowded House, renowned for timeless hits like Don’t Dream It’s Over and Weather With You, will take to the stage at Cardiff Castle on Thursday June 20 and it is announced today they will be joined on the night by Liam Finn, son of band founder and lead singer Neil Finn.

Tickets are on sale now from depotlive.co.uk

Following the success of Finn’s solo release Purple Dressearlier this year, Finn will be debuting songs from his new record The Hyperverse slated for release November 2024 as well as crowd favourites from his storied career.

Bursting onto the music scene in 1997 with New Zealand pop/rock group Betchadupa, Liam Finn’s solo career showcased his talents as a musician, producer and performer. His use of loop pedals and multiple instruments set him apart early on, captivating audiences with his rock ‘n’ roll energy and musical talent.

Finn’s solo debut, I’ll Be Lightning, arrived in 2007 to critical praise. He produced and helmed most of the instruments himself, a practice he continued on follow-up albums FOMO and The Nihilist. In support of his debut, he began performing solo using loop pedals to trigger guitar parts that he could then sing along to, as well as accompanying himself on drums. Setting an incredibly high bar, with explosive shows that felt part rock ‘n’ roll, part magic trick.

Finn’s recent milestones include his collaborative album Lightsleeper with his father Neil Finn in 2018, where he then went on to join Crowded House as a core member. Liam Finn’s music journey continues to evolve, promising exciting new releases and a global tour with Crowded House in 2024.

Australian rock band Crowded House formed in Melbourne in 1985. With more than 15 million albums sold globally, 13 ARIA Awards, an MTV, VMA and a BRIT Award under their belt, the band has also amassed billions of streams and consistently sold out tours across continents, achieving four Number 1 Albums in Australia and captivating audiences for nearly four decades.

Originally formed by Neil Finn (vocals, guitar, keys, songwriting), Nick Seymour (bass, keys) and the late Paul Hester (drums, vocals), Crowded House’s self-titled debut album went platinum, propelled by iconic hits like Something So Strong and Don’t Dream It’s Over.

The headlining show for TK Maxx presents Depot Live atCardiff Castle is presented by promoters DEPOT Live and Cuffe and Taylor.
