Awful Auntie at Cardiff New Theatre is an absolute riot! From the moment the lights dimmed, the audience was swept away on a wild adventure filled with eccentric characters and laugh-out-loud moments. The sets were great, especially the eerie world of Saxby Hall with every creaky floorboard and mysterious shadow. The actors really brought the story to life, with Aunt Alberta stealing the show with her larger-than-life personality and devious schemes. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, from gasping in shock to giggling at the absurdity of it all. Awful Auntie was a so much fun and had everyone in the audience thoroughly entertained, it was the best way to spend a rainy Wednesday night. I highly recommend catching this show before Aunt Alberta tries to take over the world again!
I’ve already ordered the other David Walliams books, if Awful Auntie is anything to go by I’m sure they will be a fun read.
